Good Looking Knees

It's surprising the number of people who neglect to spend time taking care of their knees.
Quite often the skin on the knees will be particularly dry.
Exfoliating will often reduce dryness by getting rid of the dead skin that is built up in that area.

Exfoliating around the knees is particularly important if you are using self tanning lotions as this dry area of skin will attract a build up of the self tanning lotion giving an unnatural look.

Exfoliating and moisturizing the knees on a regular basis, and certainly before applying a self tanning lotion, will result in a lot more natural tan with the reduced likelihood of having tide marks on your knees.

The skin around the knees is also an area that can show signs of aging.
I read recently that Demi Moore actually paid tens of thousands of dollars to get cosmetic surgery to tighten the baggy skin around her knees!

While these are extreme measures that most people wouldn't bother taking, it is a good idea to spend some time looking after the skin on your knees to help maintain a youthful look.

Gaining and losing weight will certainly not help and this applies to any area of the body where skin is stretched with weight gain.

By maintaining a regular weight you will do a lot less damage to your skin.
People who have lost considerable weight can often find that they have a bit of baggy skin around the knees.
Once you get baggy skin around the knees there is not a lot you can do about it apart from surgery so maintenance is always the best policy.

The skin of the knees can also get a build up of grit and grime on people who tend to get on their knees doing gardening and suchlike.

This can lead to blocked pores, blackheads and other skin irritation.

It is not often that you see information on maintaining the condition of your knees in beauty books, but people certainly notice them when they are in poor condition.
