Good Looking Feet

While you might not have the time, money, or inclination to have a pedicure, spending a little time caring for your feet can do wonders for your presentation, particularly when wearing open shoes or walking around in bare feet.

You should prepare your toenails in the same manner as you would your fingernails.

In fact toes are often quite a lot easier to prepare than fingernails because you can use both hands.
But be careful when clipping your toenails that you don't cut them too short at the sides as this can lead to ingrown toenails and that can be very painful.

Leaving the toe nails too long can also cause problems when wearing tight shoes.
Apart from damaging the shoe you can also damage the toenail.

Always file your toenails from the outside edge into the center as you would do with your fingernails.
This will stop your toenails from breaking apart.

By soaking your feet in a bowl of warm water it will soften the cuticles and help to prepare them a lot easier.

Soaking your feet will also soften the hard dry skin that can build up on your heels.
This hard skin can build up if you have a tendency to walk around in bare feet all the time.
You certainly don't want the heels of your feet look like that of an elephant when you're wearing open back shoes.

Once you soak your feet in warm water it will be a lot easier for you to remove the excess hard skin from your heels with the use of pumice.
Alternatively you can buy cheap heel preparation tools from the body shops that have fine sandpaper on them and allow you to sand away the excess skin.
You need to be careful when using these tools that you don't break through the skin and cause it to bleed as this can cause an infection.
